In March 2020, 75-year-old Russell Hill and 74-year-old Carol Clay vanished during a camping trip in the Wonnangatta River area of Victoria, Australia. Seven days later, their burnt campsite and Russell's Toyota LandCruiser were discovered. Police identified a dark Nissan Patrol as the only vehicle of interest through traffic cameras. Covert listening devices placed in the suspect's home led to the arrest of the prime suspect, Lynn, on November 22, 2021. Lynn was charged with two counts of murder on November 25, 2021. Despite maintaining innocence, on November 29th, the remains of Russell and Carol were found at the base of a tree. The arrest timing was prompted by concerns Lynn might harm himself.
